2021 Spring Nationals Update – March 4, 2021

To:  All ATA Members
From:  Chief Master Betsy Stevens
Re:  2021 Spring Nationals – Registration Update

We know you are eager to get back on the mats, and since Spring Nationals is less than 90 days away, I wanted to make sure that you all have the pertinent facts with which to prepare yourself for a positive experience. As we receive updates and other information that could affect you, I will do additional updates where they are warranted.

So far, this is the information I have to update you on:

  1. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions in Las Vegas at this time, there will be no on-site registrations for Spring Nationals in May.
    1. Online registration ends on April 11, 2021, at 11:59 PM (Central Standard Time). The schedule of events and registration links are on the Spring Nationals website here.
  3. Spectators will be limited, and all spectators will need to purchase their admission ticket prior to the event
    1. Competitors age 17 and under, will be allowed (1) guardian. None for adult competitors. Special Abilities competitors are allowed (1) guardian. Competitors' designated guardians are allowed into the venue at the time of competition and are required to enter together.
    2. We are currently working on obtaining a system that will provide the attendee with a type of code that they can either print and bring to the event, or put a digital copy on their phone, where they will be scanned for proof of entry.
  5. There is a limit to the number of persons that can be in the venue at any one time. That number is changing with each update by the governor of Nevada. The tournament will be divided into "competition rounds". Each competitor will only be allowed in the venue during the time of his/her specific competition round.
    1. At this point, we do not expect this to affect Judges being in the building. More information will follow.
    2. We will need all Judges planning to attend the event, who are not competing to also sign-up on so they may receive entry codes as well.
  7. We will be suspending the normal $25 cancellation fee for those who register and then are prevented from attending. This will be in effect for all National/World events until further notice.
