*CANCELLED* Please see below
The Portuguese Songahm Federation is in charge of organizing the ATA European Camp 2020, to be held from the 3rd to the 7th of April, in Cascais, Portugal.
Due to the international spread of the COVID-19 virus, the current public health situation requires a set of measures that go beyond normality and that aim to contain the spread of the virus and even reduce it.
Given its nature, the ATA European Camp 2020 is deemed a high risk event with regard to the spread of the aforementioned virus. In addition to having the presence of several foreign delegations, it takes place in a closed space and consists of sports practice and development.
In this sense, and following the guidelines enunciated by the Portuguese Olympic Committee, the recommendations of the National Health Service and in close collaboration with the Municipality of Cascais, we hereby announce the cancellation of the ATA European Camp 2020.
The cancellation of an event of this importance causes numerous inconveniences to everyone involved, from foreign participants who have already purchased their tickets, to families who have organized themselves to be present, as well as to the entire organization that has already devoted a lot of time and resources to the event.
With this in mind, we guarantee that the ATA European Camp 2020's organizing team is doing everything possible to minimize any inconvenience caused by this decision and is structuring a refund policy that aims at reducing losses.
Above all, we want to assure that our ATA European Camps are always safe events for all participants and are remembered as a positive and memorable meeting of the international Songahm Taekwondo community.
This Federation will issue a new statement in the coming days to report on developments that may arise.
We thank you all for your understanding and the Songahm spirit that unites us.
