PRESS RELEASE
ATA Masters’ Council Highlights Upcoming Goals
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS (November 13, 2020) – ATA’s Masters' Council, which consists of high ranks in the ATA who provide oversight and guidance to members in all matters that relate to the art of Songahm Taekwondo, issued the following announcement today about the work they have been doing and their upcoming goals:
As we near the end of a year that brought unprecedented challenges, the Masters’ Council is committed to helping the ATA navigate this crisis and emerge stronger than ever. One of the Council’s goals is to communicate clearly and frequently with ATA members. To that end, we want to share with you some information about the Council’s work.
In the past, the Masters’ Council held formal meetings three times a year: during World Championships and the two National Tournaments. The present Masters’ Council is instead meeting every week in order to guide the ATA, our instructors and our students through the pandemic and into a new era.
These are some of the topics we have addressed at our recent meetings:
-
- Electing a new Presiding Grand Master Nominee
-
- Developing Black Belt testing protocols for next year
-
- Planning the Masters’ Ceremony for the 2020 nominees and awarding their titles
-
- Preparing to select and train the 2021 Master Candidates
-
- Nominating a Songahm Masters’ Advisory Council for Latin America
We will update you on these plans over the coming weeks.
Thank you for all of your support during these challenging times. As we look forward to a new year, we recognize that 2021 may not bring a complete return to what we understand as normality. We remain dedicated to ensuring that your development and rank advancement continue uninterrupted, even in this partially virtual world. And we are confident that our organization will thrive as we embrace new approaches while continuing to honor our traditions.
